Summer residence

In 1777 Baron Samuel von Brukenthal became the governor of Transylvania, being the only sas in history placed in such an important position by Empress Maria Teresa of Austria. The former summer residence of Baron Samuel von Brukenthal was awakened in 2011 from her deep sleep, being renovated in full respect of Brukental’s ideas and vision and then given back to the general public. This historic jewel of the Baroque where history, elegance and refinement combine in a romantic dance with nature is the perfect place for your events where dreams come true!

Brukenthal Palace in Avrig is the dominant building of the summer residence of Baron Samuel von Brukenthal a wonderful and historic place that was once considered the Eden of Transylvania and has the shape of Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna because it was designed by the same architect of that time, the palace is a miniature 7 times smaller. In conclusion we have two Baroque palaces known all over the world and united artistically and architecturally.
It is located above the Olt Valley, at the highest point of Avrig.
